About the work
I have lived in Norway for the past four years. I got fed up of city living and went to see what mountains felt like. Norway is a very sparsely populated country and as such has thousands of miles of wilderness, it's been said that it's natural beauty can make you forgive it nearly anything.
This piece of work is in direct response to all the time I have spent in the Norwegian wilderness, trekking across it with my dogs. Inspired by mountains, stars, Vikings, cosmic disco, log cabins, rivers, fjords, tundra and Norse mythology.
There is also a self portrait in the work - myself as Ophelia.
